8

Kia Ora Bloggers,
today's post will be about home learning. I have done a slide which will be later in the post.

I had to come up with the answer of 8, I had to come up with it in a creative way and then share it creatively.

So, I found this quite easy because I had been doing some worked that kind of matched up quite well, but I think I can improve by giving myself more time to do this and maybe using something like biteable.

 Here is the slide:

Thank you for reading I hope you enjoyed and liked my answer. See you next time.

Let me lay down the rules...

Kia Ora Bloggers,
in today's post, I will be sharing you the rules of divisibility.

Before I get in with it, I would like to say that there were some challenges, and some things that were easy. In one activity, I had to find a number that's divisible by a number with a remainder of another using my knowledge I had collected earlier on.

On the other hand, somethings were easy peasy lemon squeezy, because we had already done work like that. On some slides our teacher even made a mistake (It's okay, we're only human).

Here is my educational slide:

Did you learn anything? I sure did!

Overall, if you remember these divisibility rules, you will excel in this subject.

I'd say my next steps are to continue getting better and work on things that are harder, but to always go back to the basics to remind myself.

Thank you for reading, I hope you learned something (did you?) & again, thanks for reading.

Home Learning

Kia Ora Bloggers,
today's post is doing my home learning, here is what I have to do:

All I had to do was write a book report about a book I recently finished, and I just finished "The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas".

Here is my slide:

I found this pretty easy, the only hard thing is the summary because it is one of those books where you either give too little away from or too much.

I hope you enjoyed, see you next time.

Speeches are here!!!!

Kia Ora Bloggers, today I will be sharing with you
what my class has been doing for writing...

SPEECHES!

Although a lot of people get nervous speaking in front of people (myself included),
you must admit, when you have a speech competition and you get through to the final, you have excitement. And excitement is exactly what I feel.

Turning back the clock a bit.Around 1 - 2 weeks ago, our class started a speech workbook on our chromebooks, during the time between writing our speech and competing we would be:
- Researching what speeches have in them
- Looking for quality speeches
- Listening to famous speeches
- doing activities to drill what aspects of a good speech are.

After we did this, we went on to write our speeches, this was actually a very quick process for me.
To begin i had around 1000 words which took me 4 minutes to read. At this point I had to assess my writing and I took out everything I needed. I did this a lot until I was down to just under 3 minutes. (Year 7/8 speeches had to be between 2:30 and 3:00, time penalty applies).

Last week, we presented our speeches in front of our year groups, we had the filmed, here is mine:

We got judged on a rubric and unfortunately I was 6 second over but.. I still got to the final.

I think I could have improved by relying on my cards less and looking up at people more.

Thank You for reading, I hope you enjoyed.

Maths Week (Vol.2)

Kia Ora Bloggers!
Today's post is kind of like a part 2 to Maths Week. As some of you may know, this week is NZ's National Maths Week. Because of this, my class has been doing really cool activities, if you would like to see these activities here is the link.

So, a few posts ago, I did a post about what I had done so far:
Now, I have the finished product.

There was a lot of challenges along the way, things like:
- What website to use (We used THIS)
- If I should do one activity or another
- If I should make a board game or a puzzle

Of course, I got over these and now I am with a finished product.
The process went like this:

The first thing we had to do was finish our previous math activities from last week. Next we had to choose an activity and plan in. If you were doing a puzzle/game (I did), we had to involve rules, what we were doing and how it worked. I decided to do a word search type thing with a girl called Nikita.

We came up with some math questions, then we put it into a word search and we printed it. After we printed it wo photo-copied it and let me tell you, our photocopier wanted to take over the world, (It went all weird and printed 53, *we only wanted 10*.)
This was actually fun. Then, and finally we put the original on cardboard filled it in and put the rules next to it, here is a slide, that has everything in it, hope you enjoy:

Overall, this past week in math has been great, I have really enjoyed self managing and working my way through challenges, as well as getting to see other people doing really cool things.

Next time, I think I would choose something more challenging to push myself, and maybe before I choose ask myself what would push me.
Before I saw bye, what do you think I could have done to make my math week even better? I would love to know.

I hope that you have enjoyed this just as much as I did, see you next time.

Math Week... So Far

Kia Ora Bloggers!
As some of you may know, this week is NZ's National 'Math Week'. Some school (mine included) have done a math week type thing with their school.

So, this week, in class, we are doing a mini five-day project, where we get to choose from multiple activities that involve math, and create something. I am creating a game/puzzle, I have a guidelines to what I do with that. Other people are building bridges & wearable math etc...

I am doing my project with a girl called "Nikita", and we are doing crossword//word search.
I have put together a little slide that shows:
- Our plan
- What we have done so far
- Our guidelines

Our Work:

After you have seen the slides, could you please give some feedback and maybe mention something that we could do to make our 'Math Week Work" a little bit more interesting or eye catching.

Thank you for reading, see you next time. Bye!

New Places!

Kia Ora Bloggers!
Today I will be posting about the 'Student Council' (I am part of it) going to Wharenui school, where we met up with their health team and shared projects that we have been working with.

I was very nervous before hand, but after we shared I felt very relieved because they were quite welcoming. I think that next time, maybe I could speak up, but apart from that it really nice to share things with others and see what other school's focuses are on.

Here is a bit more about it:

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed reading about my experiences. Have you ever done anything like this? Thank you again. Bye.

Learning Blog

Kia Ora Bloggers, in today's post I will be doing a home learning based post.

This week, I had to share three wishes, I didn't really know what to do and I had a ton of different ideas, here are some ideas I didn't use, but these are things my brother wished for:

1. To be invisible
2. To be able to become really strong
3. To be able to go to any country I wanted
4. To be able to control anything I wanted.

What are some ideas you have?

Here it is:

Thank you for reading. Hope you enjoyed. Bye.

The Boy in the striped Pyjamas

Kia Ora Bloggers, today I am sharing some of my reading work.

For the first 5 weeks of the term, I am doing a novel study around the book "The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas".  In one of the activities I had to answer some questions and show I know what is going on so here is a character web and a DLO (Digital Learning Object).

Something hard about this is trying to find the right thing to show information, and getting everything in.  Just so you know, the dlo that I made was with myself and another girl called Nikita.
I really enjoyed doing this and I hope you enjoy!

Here they are:

I hope you enjoyed, and I hope I didn't bore you. Thank you for reading this.
Bye
